Retail Supplier Awards 2016

Coolrite announced as finalist in the National Retailer Supplier Awards

Coolrite have been selected as a finalist in the “Best Shop Equipment Supplier (Food & Beverage)” category of Checkout Magazine’s “National Retailer Supplier Awards”. The Winners will be announced at a gala lunch in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, in Dublin on Friday 25th of November.

The event acknowledges best-in-class suppliers to the retail sector. These are the companies and people who make Ireland’s retail sector one of the best on a global scale.

The event attracts interest from businesses who are both directly supply with the retail trade, and those who have 3rd party links to the sector. The winners are recognized as the best of the best in terms of supplier excellence.

The “Best Shop Equipment Supplier (Food & Beverage)” category which Coolrite are finalists in is one of the most broad and competitive categories with a vast array of entries from varied supplier types. The category was open to all providers of shop fitting equipment used in food/beverage preparation and display, including refrigeration, display counters, salad bars, food preparation equipment, kitchen supplies, hot drinks units, ice cream/smoothie makers and other related areas.

The Coolrite entry was based on our highly efficient commercial refrigeration product range known as “NO DEFROST” by JBG. The “NO DEFROST” system is based on maintaining the evaporating temperature of the refrigerant gas at a level of between 0 and -3°C . This is higher than temperatures found in traditional equipment, ( -6 to -10°C), and results in a significant reduction in energy usage. This was made possible by the following key design changes:

Redesigned evaporator to provide a bigger coefficient of heat transfer.
Optimized air circulation and a refined air curtain to minimize cold air losses.
Continuous operation of the equipment without defrost periods.
Eliminating evaporator heaters regardless of the equipment type and the temperature class.
The use of double glazed doors.
