The awards are internationally recognized as fair and objective because of the independent nature of the judging process. A distinguished panel of Judges are drawn from state, academic and private sectors to co-ordinate the judging. In addition, a highly respected International panel also judge the entries. The focus is to deliver a balanced judging assessment from industry leaders who bring their extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to the judging process ensuring that the winning entries are truly outstanding and worthy of receiving a Green Award. The Judges are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement and are required to declare any conflict of interest in entries over which they deliberate, in which case that entry will be reallocated. The integrity of this process lies at the very heart of the green awards.
Coolrite’s nomination is based on the revolutionary “NO DEFROST” system by JBG. The highly efficient “NO DEFROST” system which is used in commercial multideck fridges is based on maintaining the evaporating temperature of the refrigerant at a level of between 0 and -3°C . This is higher than temperatures found in traditional equipment, ( -6 to -10°C), and results in a significant reduction in energy usage by eliminating the necessity for a defrost cycle.
