The JBG “ZERO DEFROST” system has been shortlisted in 4 categories at the prestigious RAC Cooling Awards 2016 last Wednesday 28 September 2016 at the London Hilton Hotel , Park Lane.
Here at Coolrite we are proud to be Irish agents for JBG. Present at the Awards in the were John Brogan & Shane Brogan from Coolrite and also Michael Twohig & Daniel Murphy from the Musgrave group.
The annual RAC Cooling Industry Awards recognize excellence in the refrigeration industry. Categories include Refrigeration Product of the Year, Low Carbon Achievement, Refrigeration Innovation of the Year & Retail Initiative of The Year.
The JBG “ZERO DEFROST” system was shortlisted in the following categories: “Refrigeration Product Of The Year”, “Low Carbon Achievement” & “Refrigeration Innovation of The Year”. The competition was extremely stiff and winners on the night included: Samsung, Toshiba, Marks & Spencer, Asda & Wallmart.
The 40 person panel of judges who presided ofer the selection process was made up of experts form every sector of the refrigeration industry & representatives from other organizations within the industry.
The principle behind the JBG “ZERO DEFROST” system is simple. Conventional multi decks operate with refrigerant with an evaporating temperature of -8°C and due to this low temperature the evaporators require an intermittent defrost cycle to prevent the build up of ice. The JBG zero defrost system optimizes air flows within the multi deck which makes it possible to use refrigerant gas which evaporates at -3°C while still achieving the same cooling performance thus eliminating the need for a defrost cycle on the evaporators in the multi deck.
Operating the cabinets with refrigerant evaporating at -3°C coupled with the use of glass doors and efficient multi compressor pack systems delivers proven and documented substantial energy savings. These energy savings have made the JBG zero defrost system a popular choice in supermarkets and convenience store across Ireland over the last year.
